Enterprise – Local Government
At a large municipality on the east coast our onsite engineer was in the process of upgrading the existing Altiris infrastructure when a new virus was detected on the client’s network. Although the virus definitions were up-to-date the virus was so new that the antivirus software was not able to prevent the spread of the payload. The engineer was able to parse the executable’s header information and force an Application Metering policy update that drastically reduced the infection of the client’s infrastructure.

Migration Design and POC - DOD
A large department of the military needed to migrate from windows 2000 to Windows XP. Over 40,000 machines from around the globe were involved and a hard deadline needed to be met. Engineers went onsite to design a migration process that was reliable and reproducible to be taught to the team that would be involved in the production implementation. Going onsite and providing project management our engineers were with the migration team and enabled them to continue the migration long after our engineers had left the site.

Image Consolidation – K-12 School
A large school needed to consolidate over 300 separate images to a more manageable size. Utilizing Altiris technologies the engineers were able to reduce that number to fewer than 70. This process saved the client countless hours of managing the images and hundreds of gigabytes in long term storage. Consolidating images increases the ability of the staff to update and maintain the security level of the images thus increasing the stability of deployments and reducing the amount of effort involved in maintaining newly deployed machines.

Efficient Implementation – Government Agency
A state government agency had chosen to utilize Altiris solutions to manage their environment to achieve a complete inventory of all 7,000 machines across their 80 locations. After appropriate testing the agency was able to efficiently deploy the appropriate agents to the majority of it’s locations within one week. This deployment enabled the client to retire licenses that were no longer in compliance and to gain a clearer picture of their current environment.
